Simple & Sheer
Recently, Mr. Newton, a street style photographer, caught blogger Eleonora of JouJou Villeroy in a sheer top…with nothing on underneath it. And then, trendsetter Lady Gaga wore a completely sheer maxi dress to Terry Richardson’s book launch party.
3/4 Sleeve Blouson Pleated Blouse, $58 from Max Studio
Sheer clothing was popular on the runways for fall/winter, but as you know, sometimes it is difficult to translate the runway looks to real life. However, fashionistas, like Blake Lively are embracing the sheer trend.
Love Sam Olive Cotton & Silk Oversized Shirt, $99 from Blue Fly
You don’t have to be a model or star to incorporate the sheer trend into your wardrobe. A sheer dress is over-the-top…tops are much easier managed. Look for tops that are blousey and tailored- avoid tight, body hugging tops. This will keep your look polished and sophisticated.
Heartloom Putty Mini Check Print Silk Dallas Top, $95 from Blue Fly
Next, wear a camisole underneath your sheer top. If you are feeling bold, or going out at night, a bandeau or bra can be worn. Bras should cover everything, be in tip-top shape and stay in place.
Wyatt Ink Floral Print Chiffon Blouse, $79 from Blue Fly
Chilly outside? A faux fur vest or relaxed blazer would be a great addition to a sheer top.
Sheer should be kept out of the workplace, unless your workplace is fashion oriented and a camisole should always be worn underneath.
This is a fun trend that will easily transition to spring!
